  1. a Duration of weaning was defined as time from study enrollment to extubation or disconnection of the ventilator continuously for 24 hours or more in patients tracheotomized. Duration of weaning could be analyzed in 39 and 35 patients in NAVA and PSV groups respectively. b Successful weaning was defined as no need for re-intubation and invasive mechanical ventilation within 48 hours following extubation or continuously disconnection of ventilator for more than 48 hours in patients who were tracheotomized.
